E-Book Reflection

This is a reflection of about 500 words on my experience creating an E-Book.

Creating an English e-book with my partner Cherng was a rewarding and meaningful experience. In terms of collaboration and teamwork, Cherng and I worked very smoothly together. We divided our tasks clearly and without any conflicts. We brainstormed and outlined the entire story together. I was mainly responsible for structuring the story, planning the page divisions, and creating the story mountain. Cherng focused more on the visual design and detailed edits. Since Book Creator didn’t allow co-editing, we used the same account to work on the project, which turned out to be a very effective solution. Another interesting part of our teamwork was that we both preferred working late at night and then reporting our progress to each other the next day. This habit allowed us to be responsible for our own tasks while maintaining good communication and mutual trust.

Regarding the use of digital tools, ChatGPT played a huge role in helping me with grammar checks, sentence structure, and even generating some images for the story. Canva was also essential in designing the visuals, as most of our images and layouts were created there before being transferred to Book Creator. I’m especially proud of the reindeer bodyguard character in our story. He was vivid, lively, and cool, adding a unique charm to the plot. Although we faced technical difficulties, such as the limitations of Book Creator, we found practical ways to solve them by using external tools and combining them effectively.

This project also helped me grow personally. The most meaningful part for me was learning how to structure a story more professionally. I now understand the importance of using third-person perspective in author introductions, arranging a proper climax, and ensuring that the story is complete and coherent. Another important takeaway was the value of peer feedback. Sometimes, when writing, we may fall into a loop or get stuck in our own perspective. Feedback from others can help us identify blind spots and improve our work significantly.

As a future language teacher, this project gave me a lot of inspiration. I realized that writing a story is not just about creativity, but also about planning and structure. I am proud to say that I’ve created an e-book, and I would be happy to share my work with my future students. Hopefully, they will be inspired to write their own books as well. If there is a chance, I would love to guide them through a similar project, helping them develop not only their language skills but also their creativity, digital literacy, and collaboration abilities.
